LaToya is currently employed as an Occupational Health and Safety Risk Manager for a consulting firm out of Indianapolis, IN. She have a Master’s Degree in Public Health which is the study of the promotion and protection of communities, as opposed to individuals, and we study those communities (where they live, learn, work and play) in order to understand how to help those communities achieve equity and equality.

LaToya and her team developed The AwayZone travel app to contribute to the economic health of communities that have historically, and traditionally, been underserved and underrepresented in the U.S. This tool will also contribute to the emotional health, social adjustment, and in some cases, safety of the members of these communities by creating an environment of support, cultural identity, inclusion, and shared knowledge.

In this episode, LaToya describes the makings of “home sweet home” and her mission to cultivate this through her travel app AwayZone. She educates us on the makings of a “trash” person while taking a moment for self-assessment. By the end, you may consider doing a SWOT analysis as well.
